Danny Kehoe

Danny Kehoe took Acting and Comedy Improv classes in the summer of 1999 with Black Box Theatre, studying under the tutorage of Pat Nolan, Rebecca Roper and John Dawson. He found that comedy was a useful tool in developing his acting skills, and that the two arts really complimented each other. In 2004, Danny completed a four-year acting programme at the Liberties College in Dublin.

Improv and Sketch Comedy was always fascinating to him and whilst in college he auditioned for four of the Dublin based Improv groups and was accepted into all! He was performing three to four nights a week, which gave him incredible confidence in himself and in his acting.

Over the years Danny has performed at the Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival, Waterford Arts Festival and Galway Arts Festival. He was a member of the first Irish Comedy Sportz team that went to the CSZ Tournament (Milwaukee USA) in 2004 representing Dublin. He was a founding member of Peppers Comedy Improv group and the Cheeky Monkeys Sketch Group. Both of these groups debuted at the 2005 Kilkenny Cat Laughs Fringe Festival.

It was at this festival that Danny decided to try Stand Up Comedy. Later that year he started doing open spots and entering competitions. He made it to the semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny at the Edinburgh Festival and was also a semi-finalist in the Bulmers International Comedy Festival (Dublin). Since then he has been gigging regularly all over the country as an MC, Stand up Comedian and Improviser with various different groups.

Danny is currently a member of the Ha’Penny Laughs and Craic Pack Comedy Improv groups. Earlier this year he and some colleagues set up their newest project “Ghost Train Willy”, a new comedy sketch group that is the talk of the town. In addition to all this Danny teaches workshops in drama and comedy to corporate groups, adults and kids.
